How Effective Would Nathan Drake's Collection Agency Work Go?

By Rob Sutter

Nathan Drake is known for his ability to find just about any treasure in the world and the quality of work done is something that I can't deny. The amount of puzzles seen in various tombs and crypts is astounding yet he manages to tackle them as well as he fends of foes. Drake's ability to uncover any artifact is second to none, in my mind. However, he's not without fault and such faults may make him the target of a collection agency before long.

Drake wasn't exactly working as a treasure hunter all his life, though he was fascinated in it in his youth. He believed that he belonged to the lineage of Sir Francis Drake and, as a result, believed that anything belonging to the family was his. He thought nothing of taking items from a museum, for instance, which involved quite a number of chases. Drake certainly didn't endear himself to many people, though he had met his future mentor Victor Sullivan aka Sully at this point in his life.

I don't think anyone can deny the fact that Drake's lack of reluctance when facing off against opposing groups has not made him many friends. Drake would often solve such issues with fists or firearms, depending on the severity of the situation. Also, when you're able to take down brutes which double your own size, I think you have room to brag. Drake can handle his own in the way of brawling, though his ability to handle legal troubles is in question.

If you'd like a particular instance, in his youth Drake stole a ring and decoder from a museum display, under the belief that it belonged to his family. One can question the legitimacy of this as long as they'd like but the truth is that a collection agency could be useful here. It would be able to attain the riches that are owed and considering how valuable such stolen items are, I believe they account for quite a bit. I think it goes without saying that reputable agencies like R.R.S. work well in these sorts of cases.

Drake may need to take on all of the assistance on this matter as he could get because who knows just how many more problems could come about? He may be a skilled treasure hunter but would it be enough to ensure immunity against these kinds of legal troubles? Drake would either have to amplify his work rate in this regard or simply hang his head in defeat. This isn't anything to be ashamed of, but I do think Drake's ego would take a bit hit.
