Why We Need Digital Printing That Is Eco Friendly

By Anita Ortega

Since the invention of printing, life has never been easier in planet earth. Initially, it involved too much paperwork and wastage of both time and resources. Thing have become better with new methods being invented are more efficient. Sadly though, the problem of waste disposal has persisted. This is because a large percentage of the items used cannot decompose when gotten rid of. To this point, digital printing that is eco friendly is the ultimate solution.

The disadvantages aside, great strides have been made as compared with the former years. Lesser energy is now being consumed and the amount of wastes has significantly gone down. The resultant products are also more durable. Rubbishing digital printing is thus not an option. You only need to make it better, more efficient and up-to-date with the ever advancing technology.

Use of non plastic or low plastic storage devices should be discouraged. They normally form a heap when disposed and the thought of them being unable to decompose is a disturbing one. Their packaging should also be done using paper, wood or other products known for easily decomposing. They ought to stay long enough to avoid the pain of having to think of replacing the frequently.

A film of oil normally is mixed with electronic ink to create the images. Quality paper is needed for this image to come out neatly and with good resolution. The users can be exposed to great danger if the ink mishandled or misused. This brings the need for ink manufacturers to invent safer brands. Proper ink disposal is also mandatory when need arises. Reusable oil is also preferred for this purpose.

During the process of printing, there are some volatile agents who are released into the air. These agents can expose man to great risks. Some of them contain active atoms that can be gravely harmful. Every stakeholder in this business has to take environmental impact assessment seriously and fully observe the legal requirements. Potentially harmful components have to be checked before being released into the air. Serious study in this field is mandatory to suggest better options in terms of safety.

Also to be considered is ozone exposure. However efficient and useful the processes might be, if they pollute and deplete the ozone layer, then they better be avoided. For the printing processes to require ozone exposure, moderation is necessary and at no time should the exposure exceed eight hours. Empty ink cartridges and other additional wastes need to be safely handled. They must be thrown away from the reach of children.

It is also important to consider the type of ink used previously. It should be non poisonous as the printouts can at times be used for wrapping dugs and edibles. Ingesting such exposes the users to untold harm. There have been recent innovations that use anhydrous ink. This is quite encouraging as it cuts down the cost which could have gone to water. The products are also safer, longer lasting and more appealing.

Technological interventions should continue. The substances that result therein have to be advantageous to the human race while at the same time maintaining ecological friendliness. These inventor need to beware of pollution effects and avoid them as much as possible.
