Texas Public Arrest Records

By Ben Kingsley

If your past includes run-ins with the law, a few arrests and indictments, and maybe a conviction, you can be fairly certain that a record of that part of your past is in a criminal database somewhere. In the Lone Star State, the Texas Department of Public Safety is primarily the main entity that handles all Texas arrest records for the state. The department oversees the Crime Records Service (CRS) and the Computerized History System (CCH), both playing a pivotal role as the chief depository of all criminal information in the state of Texas.

The environment that we are living in these days can be rather dangerous, especially for our children and loved ones. You can never be too careful when dealing with people you do not know personally. Unsavory individuals are just waiting to take advantage when you're not looking. This is why having a tool that allows you to checkout other people's criminal background before you make deals with them is a welcome advantage, don't you agree?

In the state of Texas, citizens can access a wide array of arrest and conviction reports. You can request a complete copy of your own criminal history by way of a private and public online system. The entire process is relatively quick and easy, involving a name-based search. A three dollar fee, not including the transaction and processing fees, will be charged to the requester for every name searched. You will need to complete the appropriate request form and submit it along with your fingerprint card and the essential fees to the appropriate office.

Once the request has been processed accordingly, the applicant will get a complete copy of his criminal record, including all arrests, dispositions, and prosecutions of Class B misdemeanor offenses and felony convictions. On the other hand, accessing another person's criminal history is entirely possible, but the information you will be getting is somewhat limited since the report will only contain conviction reports and/or deferred adjudications. Comprehensive access to third party accounts is only available to authorized employers, employment agencies and law enforcement.

Employers who wish to run criminal background checks on prospective applicants can do so by accessing the Texas Department of Public Safety's Computerized Criminal History system. This search tool is designed to help employers and employment agencies gather background information associated with current and potential employees. Searches will typically yield up-to-date and comprehensive results pertaining to arrests resulting in convictions and dispositions on Class B misdemeanor offenses.

But if you are tired of having to pay for every search you perform, there is a cost-efficient alternative that will only require a one-time fee in exchange for unlimited searches. Online criminal history providers are quite dependable when it comes to providing accurate and up-to-date criminal history accounts. If you are interested in another person's records of arrest, then perhaps you should try using an online criminal record search service. Find a reputable website or provider, and start searching. It's quick and easy, relatively cheap, and far more convenient than any government service.
