Fun things to do while visiting Sasolburg, South Africa's "Emerald Resort"

While in Sasolburg the Emerald Resort & Casino is defiantly the place to be, it's less than an hour from O.R. Tambo International Airport. The Emerald Resort & Casino is a place where business is combined with pleasure, action with relaxation, and finesse with frivolity. There is a variety of live music every night Monday-Sunday, there is safe playing areas for children and a indoor Aqua dome, so no matter what the weather, enjoy the slip and slide, explore the ship wreck or take a swim in the warm water, there is also fully trained lifeguards on duty it's not just fun, it's perfectly safe too.

If you enjoy the outdoors the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve is the place for you. With a huge ground of 13,337 Hectares the Suikerbosrand is home to kloofs, ridges, plains, a variety of plant life and a range of animals that can be seen. Vegetation types range from open grassland on hillsides and plains to wooded gorges and acacia woodland, marshland and fynbos.

For a little bit of fun and exercise with great views go visit the Maccauvlei Golf Course. This is known to be one of the best Gold courses in South Africa and has been open since 1926. The Course boasts superb Kikuyu fairways and Bent grass greens, as well as 90 bunkers - including the biggest bunker in South Africa, a 120-meter long sea of sand at the par-four 17th hole.

For the people on the posh side of life, you should definitely Cruise the Vaal on the Liquid Lounge. Enjoy a one hour long sundowner cruise and experience the sun set's beauty over the Vaal River. This is one of the finest inland cruisers in South Africa. The Liquid Lounge makes its presence known along the lush shores of the Vaal River. This 56km section of crossable water, boasts a contrast of serene nature and some of the finest real estate in country, rightly named Millionaires Bend.

And for the people who have a knack for learning about history and culture then Walter Sisulu Square will definitely be your cup of tea. The first of its kind Sisulu Square is South Africa's first township entertainment explosion centre. The Square embraces a unique historical background and South African culture at its best. It is simply a blend of historical rejuvenation, a futuristic conceptualization with a dynamic experimentation of township fever.
