The Act Of Giving Corporate Gifts

By Hubert Boyle

Businesses are basically about relationships. One of which is the relationship which exists between an employer and employees. The employers who regard the value of that relationship know that the personal connection needs to be nurtured and sustained. A way to show appreciation for the dedication of an employee is the tried and tested act of corporate gift giving.

Although corporate gift giving can similarly be viewed as recognition of the hard work and commitment of an employee, it should not be mistaken with performance incentives. The former is handed to an employee without having to qualify for it based on earlier established conditions of standard performance. The very reason is that such preconditions don't exist when it comes to the concept of corporate gifts.

On the other hand, performance incentives are handed to employees who qualified under exact preconditions. Examples of which are reaching montly quotas and perfect attendance within a definite time frame. Employees who aim to be awarded of an incentive work their way towards it by following the criteria. In contrast, an employee who gets a corporate gift from the company he or she works for doesn't really have to follow exacting terms to earn it.

The whole idea of corporate gift giving is actually noble. But it's nonetheless prone to misinterpretation. Carrying out this kind of sincere gesture of appreciation requires care. That can be done by knowing the rules that a company observes when it comes to giving and receiving gifts. No matter how much effort you put into the selection and packaging of a gift, if it will put a recipient in an awkward position it'll just do more harm than good. The last thing that a giver wants to do is for the recipient to be confused as to whether the present is a form or bribery or a confirmation of unfair treatment.

When you are about to order the gifts, don't forget that you needn't leave your work station to pick, order and pay for your selections. Corporate gift suppliers nowadays utilise the internet for wider reach while enjoying and extending the convenience and flexibility of technology to help them deliver the kind of service they promised to their clients. Chances are, you will be included in their growing list of satisfied customers whose communicated needs were met by them.
