Simple Strategies For Creating A Loyal Twitter Following That Will Make You Money

By James Steele

You can't really exist as an internet marketer today without using social media in some manner. Twitter is now one of the biggest social media sites. The only other site that is possibly larger is Facebook, and even this is debatable. If you haven't yet signed up with Twitter, you should do so as soon as possible. What really counts, of course, is having a large number of followers on Twitter. There are some steps that can help you build up a Twitter following fairly fast. So let's look into how you can attract a large and targeted following on Twitter.

Your username on Twitter should be on the short side. One possibility is to use your real name, but if this is long you can use an abbreviated version of it. Still, the rule is that shorter is better. Any of your tweets that get resent will be clearer if you have a short username. Your name uses up your character spaces when it gets retweeted and you don't want any of your messages to get cut off. You also want to gain some recognition, and the shorter the name, the more likely it will be remembered. You don't have to go to extremes and make it 3 characters, but it should definitely be under a dozen. Whenever you tweet, be sure you include a hash tag that pertains to your topic. This is done with a hash symbol, then the words you want, but don't put any spaces between them. A proper hash tag #lookslikethis. The tags you put in your tweets are how people are more easily able to find you when they search for those topics. Try to use relevant hash tags that contain phrases others will be likely to use if they're trying to find your business. This is a great way to start conversations as well as attract new profile visitors and followers. It also gives you a way to show that you understand how to use your Twitter account.

Aside from any direct messages you send, all your other tweets are public. Essentially, people can check your profile page and read your previous tweets, as well as see any @ replies you made in the past. For this reason, and many others, don't let your entire twitter feed become sales based. Get involved in conversations and give out helpful information rather than trying to push for sales. If your feed is all about marketing and sales hype, people won't be tempted to follow you at all, so avoid this.

Always remember to tweet regularly. It's easy to get caught up in design and profiles and figuring out who to follow. But if you don't post any tweets, there's no reason for anyone to follow you. You don't want to be one of those people with a great looking Twitter profile who follows thousands of people, but has no followers of their own simply because you don't tweet. Composing compelling tweets takes a bit of practice, but it's worth the effort in the long run.

You could also figure out what works, and what doesn't work, through experimentation. It is possible to get this all started in the right direction by using the strategies and tactics you have just read. From here work on finding people who are loyal and who will actively engage with you. You'll figure out how to do as you work and learn.
