How To Capture More Exposure When Launching That New Site

By Bridgette Garcia

Today, it is absolutely nothing to launching your own site for either business or pleasure. But what is difficult is making your launch a success because you have to take effective steps towards getting your initial launch phase right to set the momentum. The offline statistic is just about the same as online; a high percentage of web businesses fail in the first year or two. What you must do is learn what needs to be done, and then you also need to make sure you are learning the right things. We will talk about this business of launching your website or blog, so pay close attention.

Before you launch the website, you need to do something that will grab the attention of your target market. In other words, create a holding page where you gather information from the interested people. It's possible to create a simple landing page where people can submit their email addresses to receive information when you make updates to your progress. This step is crucial because it comes under the pre-launch phase. This is where you get the people who are interested in you and help grow their anticipation. There really isn't any good reason that you need to wait for the actual launch to start sending traffic to your site. A big benefit of doing this is that you'll slowly and steadily build an email list. When you are ready to fully launch your website you can let the people on your list know and receive a huge influx of traffic.

You should absolutely never put a countdown timer up on your website. But, of course, when you really want to learn things the hard way, go ahead and include one. The biggest drawback of having a countdown timer up there ticking away is that you could wind up messing things up before you really get a good start. In addition to that, it is sort of impossible to create as well as work toward that strict of a deadline. This is mostly because there are all sorts of things that aren't in your control. For example, you might have to depend on another person for the delivery of a huge part of your project. The timer isn't productive and, for the most part, it just bugs the people who go to the site.

If you really want to go all out, then find the important sites in your niche and see if they will help you spread the word. Building relationships with other businesses in your market is a smart thing to do, anyway. You are bound to run into some bloggers who will be cool about this and interested. All you really need are just one or two, and that will be a beginning which is positive. Of course you must do all you can to cast your net as widely as possible.

Every thing that you do to help the launch of your site be successful is going to help your website and business be successful in the long term. By setting up a strong foundation for your site, you are in a way, paving a pathway for the future. A lot of sites will launch and then vanish without giving any indication about where they are going. Why do they do that? It is because the site owner didn't do the proper amount of work to make sure that the launch was successful. If you create a good launch, you will automatically increase the exposure that you get in the early phases. Now, it's up to you how you build your success on top of what you get. Slowly and carefully you will multiply the success that you achieve via your website launch.
