Romantic Dates Can Be Free or Almost Free

By Robbie Bainer

The idea of flying half way around the world for an expensive dinner date with your girlfriend or wife is a lovely idea. However, can you afford to do that? Many men are looking for ways to impress that special lady in their life without spending their entire pay check on dinner. They want to find ideas on how to have low cost, yet romantic dates with their special gal.

Romantic dates do not require you to spend a lot of money, but they do require you to do a bit of planning ahead of time. A romantic date is special time that you share with your girlfriend or wife. You are both relaxed, laughing and having fun.

Do you both enjoy the outdoors? Perhaps a date that includes a beautiful hike in the country or by a lake is something that you would both enjoy. You could pack a nice picnic for the two of you to enjoy in a nice romantic setting. Try not to choose a strenuous hike, unless you both love that idea. Take your camera along and take some great pictures of your romantic date so that you can show them to your grandchildren one day. A fun hike and yummy picnic are great example of low cost romantic date ideas.

If you live by the beach, why not take a walk with your wife or girlfriend? Take your shoes off, play in the waves, and hold hands. This is not only something that happens in movies! The sunset on a sandy beach is the perfect location for some romance

Read poetry together out loud. You can do this on the couch together or at the beach or a park near your home. This may sound cheesy, but it really is romantic. If you want to get really creative, why not write a poem for each other? Have a glass of wine together while you enjoy some poetry and romance.

Making popcorn and renting a movie that you can watch at your house or hers has always been a popular low cost date idea. Find a movie that you will both enjoy and plan an uninterrupted evening of movie, popcorn, drinks, dim lights and warm blankets. Remember, most women love to snuggle. It is very romantic, and again, it won't cost you a cent.

Take dancing lessons together. Many local community centers offer low cost dancing lessons once a week that the two of you could attend together. It doesn't matter if you are good at it or not, what matters is the time you spend holding each other and just enjoying yourself. As long as you can laugh at yourself if you make mistakes, you will both have fun. Having fun is very romantic and always free.

The key ingredient of a romantic date is not how much money you spend. The key ingredient is how much fun you have. When you are with someone that you can laugh with and truly enjoy each other's company, money is a non-issue.
