By Ann Frank

For someone new to the London area, finding a nice suburb in which to live will be helpful. Wimbledon is a very popular area for people in the market for property. It is close to Kingston, in the borough of Merton. It is located in southwest of London and has quickly become one of the highest rated areas to live in. It includes a deep history of regal stature as it was home to the coronation of different Saxon kings, but combines a modern feel these days which attracts people of all ages.

Kingston established itself as a centre of military aircraft manufacturing over the last century, producing the famous Harrier Jump Jet. The present brings wonderful shopping venues along with pubs that have a wide range of offerings. Life is good for the people in this area.

People who live locally are a mix of big city lovers and those who prefer the country life. The formation of Kingston University has brought a younger flair to the suburb as well.

Wimbledon offers just about everything a person could want. For individuals who like the active life or those who are more relaxed, the social scene created by the locals mixes all kinds of people and tastes.

Individuals who follow sports have many options in this borough. The Rugby Club and AFC Wimbledon are two of the newest additions in the suburb along with other amateur clubs that people can find activities to partake in.

Wimbledon's location may worry some people because they feel that it is not close enough to London's centre. This should not be a concern since the suburb offers great transportation that connects it to the big city. London is simply minutes away from any of the railway stations situated in Wimbledon.

To relieve a bit of pent up stress, a resident of the suburb can attend a show at the local theatre, eat scrumptious food from various restaurants, or explore an art exhibition. Wimbledon offers its residents a wide range of evening entertainments. During the day or night, this area has great places to enjoy nature. The numerous parks and gardens make a nice place to walk, play with the children, or peacefully soak in the atmosphere. Bushy Park and Richmond Park are two of the local favourites while Hampton Court and Kew Gardens are also nearby.

People who enjoy shopping have a number of choices to pick from. There are different shopping centres that include popular High Street names along with independent outlets that offer specialties and unique items.
