Hong Kong Maid-Smart Patience leads to a Rewarding Hong Kong Maid

By Alice Sy

When working with a newly-hired Hong Kong Maid, patience is more than a virtue, it's a reward. That's because patience is crucial to establish a significant relationship with the maid, especially in the beginning. It's true that it can be difficult and often challenging but with these worthy, no-nonsense advices, you'll be on your way to becoming the best respected employer.

Patience will not be a virtue if it is easy to practice. Do know that patience is about actions rightly expressed. Therefore be patient in touring the maid to your home and teaching the whereabouts of the job the way you want it. If the maid does not perform well according to your expectations, it's because the adjustment period is not yet complete, better to be lenient in the first 3 months.

A newly hired Hong Kong maid cannot always please an employer and often, misunderstandings can even arise. You can prevent this by giving the maid your special requests or preferred methods of cleaning or care taking in a list. Go beyond verbal instructions and take time to write all those specific requirements, this way you are not just helping the maid but yourself as well preventing those repetitive orders.

Some employers prefer a special way of cleaning or cooking or a different approach to a task. While the maid can really handle the job, it would be better for the employer to demonstrate how it's done in the beginning. This leaves room for more explanation and corrections. Accuracy leaves room for the maid's better understanding and the employer's peace of mind.

Every Hong Kong maid new to the job will definitely need time to cope. Patience of the employer is the key formula to initial success. There is no one perfect for the job, just the right ones.
