How A Closet System Can Be A Good Investment

By Deborah J. Popa

A fictional entrepreneur might come across a dilapidated property for sale in a good neighborhood. He may upgrade the house and re-sell it for a good profit if he can keep his upgrade costs within reasonable limits. In this regard he might consider a closet system.

If the original owner of the house has been a hoarder there could be large piles of junk acquired with the house. It might seem worthless but it might include some valuable items such as, for example, rare stamps worth the same amount as the house itself.

Opening the door of an outside shed could reveal a mass of tools, discarded kitchen utensils and appliances. In the mess there could be many small items such as screwdrivers and other items that are purchase, used once and then lost in an outside shed.

A closet system fixed at eye level to the rear wall of the outbuilding count contain a collection, neatly organized in compartments. The collection would rest quietly behind a door which, when opened, would reveal a cornucopia of hardware items. A salesman could boast that they go with the house, impressing a prospective buyer.

A similar process could apply in other rooms. The kitchen might be dark and furnished with molding, awkward cupboards. New fittings could lighten up the room and make a modern room with storage places specifically designed for the sort of things that are found in up-dated kitchens.

Poorly organized people are all familiar with a phenomenon known as the 'recurring useless slip syndrome'. This refers to the fact that when papers are stored in piles the same useless slip will be found repeatedly when one is urgently seeking for a vital document. The search for what is wanted will eventually be abandoned after the same useless slip has been found five or six times. This frustration can be eliminated by the installation of a filing system that is such fun to use that a person will eagerly open the door in order to store pieces of paper that have arrived in his pockets in the course of a day.

This effective closet system can also be a selling point when it comes to disposing of the property that was bought for a song. A sales person can point to the fact that a closet system is much more than a closet. It may have been especially designed for the house using software that puts a home owner in touch with the latest and most effective methods of home organization.
