What To Look For In A Gaming Mouse

By Kevin Mai

Trying to decide which is the best gaming mouse can be a difficult task with all of the newest features and buttons on them these days. Features such as laser sensors, new buttons, DPI settings and so on, make them confusing if you do not know what you are looking for.

Do your research and select wisely. All of the manufacturers are not created equal and some will offer warranties or money back guarantees, while others will not. Make sure that you know what you are looking for before you spend any of your money on the wrong one or one that does not do what you will need it to do.

Key features that you should look for include sensitivity, grip, the buttons and the layout. Sensitivity is really one of the key issues because it will help determine just how fast your game playing will go. If it is overly sensitive it can also pose a problem by making it too touchy. Finding one that is adjustable is recommended.

A lot of the models that are available have more buttons on them then the old ones did. If you can find one that will allow you to easily program the buttons, it will be ideal for gaming. It is easier to play most games when you can use just the mouse and do not have to go back and forth to the keyboard.

Some people prefer a lightweight one version over a heavy and cumbersome one. Finding one that allows the user to customize the weight is also advisable so that it can be adjusted to be lighter or heavier as needed. For game play, it might be better if it is light while heavier may be more comfortable while doing other things on the computer. Some models also feature lighting schemes and effects that some people fully enjoy. These are optional items and are a matter of preference.

A smaller, compact version might be the best choice for your if you usually hold yours with your fingertips. If you hold it with your whole hand, in a palm grip, you will probably be more comfortable with a larger one.

These are some of the key features when you are shopping for the best gaming mouse. Looking at the DPI will help you to make sure that it has the sensitivity that you are looking for. You will also want to compare your initial choices until you find the one that will suit your gamer needs and your budget.
