It has always been an inevitable fact that fresh graduates would find it hard to get a starting job. Some resort to blue collar jobs which are not even related to the degree they have been going for in college. When calculated annually, these jobs don't even pay off their college tuition fees. That is why a lot of people have resorted to finding part time jobs while they are searching for their dream job. One of the most commonly sought after is Creative writing jobs. Why? Simply because, creative writing jobs allow you to be at the comfort of your own home with a very good pay that you do not normally get as a fresh graduate. So the question now is what are the advantages and disadvantages of creative writing jobs? Are they more on the positive aspect of a career booster or a negative note of brain meltdown?

The Pros of Creative Writing Jobs

To start off, one of the great advantages of having creative writing jobs as a career is that you get to stay at the comfort of your own home while you are working and you can even take your laptop with you if you must go to another location.

Another advantage of creative writing jobs is that the pay is good. Unlike other jobs that doesn't compensate for the effort you are putting up, creative writing jobs give you a salary appropriate for the amount and quality of work you put to your articles and stories. Most of the time, your boss will give you a salary raise if you are doing a good job so it is highly possible that you excel from this career.

We can also note down that most of the time, creative writing jobs don't give you so much stress when signing up for the job. Unlike most jobs that require a series of personal interviews and exams, almost always, companies searching for creative writers can transact online with the use of communication programs on the internet. So the nerve wracking and sweat provoking face to face interview is eliminated. With exemptions to creative writing jobs such as in newspapers and magazines that would certainly require you to show up at their office and bring some solid portfolios and such.

The Disadvantages of Creative Writing Jobs

Although rarely happening, one might find it draining to constantly submit articles and stories after another. On some instances there are creative writing jobs that one may find not worth the effort and time as the compensation is enough.

Some people who are soul searching also find love in writing short stories and weblogs about their lives and the lives of people who has touched them. Creative writing jobs are not only about articles and columns. They can also include writing things that move people.
