By Chloe Gib

Making glow in the dark candles can be fun and enjoyable, for kids and adults of all ages. This simple craft can be an outlet of one's creativity as different designs and techniques are called for each time you make your own candle. There is a lot of room for creativity because you are not limited to simply different colors, but also the effects of light and amount of light each wax torch produces.

These small wax torches emit a very light hint of glow even when they candle is not lit. This makes them a good use for a night light, or could also be used by people who cannot leave a lit candle on overnight. This article takes on a simple and fun way to make a glowing candle at home.

Glow-in-the-dark tools are material have a mechanism of absorbing and holding light. After the source of light is gone, the light from the luminescence is released slowly in a light form of glowing. If the material is once again being shed light, absorption of light follows.

Candle-making kits are available in the market, and should be used if there are no plans of creating many batches. Gel candle making is always compared to cooking. This is because it requires patience, good materials and ingredients, and good timing.

You can start off by breaking down the gel included in the kit into smaller pieces and put them into the melting pot. It is highly encouraged to use a double boiler to avoid the solution from catching fire or overheating. The boiler is there to make sure that the temp of the mixture will not go beyond a hundred degrees because the boiling point of water is only up to a hundred degrees.

Next thing on the list is to carefully place the wick into your luminescence container. The tab should be dipped briefly in the hot gel and be allowed to cool for a while. Afterwards, slowly aim for the middle of the container, and press the wick down at the proper spot.

After completely melting the gel, you can then mix about an ounce of glow powder into the mixture. It is up to you to add your choice of colors and scents at this point of creating the candle. However, the fragrances that you choose to use should be made specifically for candles. Finish off by pouring the mixture to your container.

Allow the whole mixture to cool down, then afterwards, you have your own glow in the dark candles. The project can be enjoyable and easy when done properly. It can even be a source of profit. You should also consider making Martini candles as they are very decorative. It is up to you on how these candles will turn out because they are custom candles made personally.
